Mustangs football is Edmonton's newest entry in Minor football. After the end of the 2006 season, a few like-minded individuals got together with the idea it was time for South West Edmonton to have it's own minor football program. The South West Edmonton Minor Football Association, and the Mustangs were formed to give more kids the opportunity to play the game we love.
The Mustangs started the 2007 season with a single team in the Bantam division. In 2008 the Mustangs expanded, adding a Midget and Atom team. In 2009 the Mustangs added a team in the Peewee division, completing the lineup with teams in all CDMFA divisions.
