U16 (Bantam)- 12 vs 12 (ages 13 through 15 / born 2010 & 2011. Youth born 2009 are only eleigible if they will be attending Grade 9 in the fall of 2024)
Players will be required to bring government issued proof of age to equipment handout for visual verification by a SWEMFA official. U16 players will also need to provide proof of school grade at equipment hand out. The Capital District Minor Football Association (CDMFA) reserves the right to perform spot checks of players proof of age and grade. These documents must be made available to the league upon request.

Mustang Program Fee's cover all our annual operating costs as well equipment use/replacement, team and individual player photos, and one player ticket to the year end banquet. Mustangs do not require parent fundraising over and above the program fee's (Iindividual teams may decide to do team fundraising to pay for or support teambuilding events.) The League (CDMFA) no longer has a raffle ticket sale option as part of their registration fees.
Spring Camp: Spring Camp is planned for the first 2 weeks of June at Confederations Sports Fields..There will be 2 practice per week held on weekday evenings. Final days and times for practices are being confirmed.
Main Camp Practices: There are no practices in the month of July as mandated by Football Alberta and CDMFA. Main Camp practices will be three evenings per week starting the first week of August at Confederations Sports Fields. Final days and times for practices are being confirmed.
League Games: Regular season games may take place on Friday evening (Friday Night Lights) or Saturday or Sunday days starting at the end of August until the end of October. Playoff games take plave at the end of October and into November. Games locations are set by the league and take palce in the City as well as in Sherwood Park, St Albert, Fort Saskatchewan, Leduc, Beaumont, Spruce Grove or Stony Plain.
Club Supplied Equipment: Equipment use is included in the registration fees for athletes. SWEMFA provides each athlete the use of a equipment bag, helmet, shoulderpads, practice pants, game pants, and games jerseys (2x). Each player is supplied an athletic T-Shirt, practice jersey, girdle, game socks and mouthguard that are palyers to keep. Dates for equipment handout will be communicated after registration. A post dated (Nov 1 2024) equipment deposit cheque for the amount of $500.00 made out to South West Edmonton Minor Football Association (SWEMFA) will be required at equipment handout. The cheque will be returned at the end of the season when equipment is returned and there are no outstanding funds due.
Player Supplied Equipment: While we do supply players simple mouthguards, we do recommend players purchase a good quality mouthguard for their own protection. Players are required to supply their own football or similar cleats (no metal cleats).
